Beautiful apartment near Philadelphia, with easy access to New York and Washington

Our home is a sunny, spacious apartment located in the beautiful historic Main Line area right outside Philadelphia.

Located in the Philadelphia suburb of Haverford, Pennsylvania, ours is a large (188 sq. meters) 3-bedroom apartment, with just a 2-minute walk to commuter and interstate rail transportation, shopping, and dining. You may use our car, but trips to Philadelphia (20 min.), New York (1 1/2 hour), and Washington (2 hour 20 min.) are most easily made by train. We are just a 5-minute walk to Haverford College and its world-class arboretum and nature trails.

As you enter through our front door and into the foyer, you'll notice the beautiful views through the double French doors and out to the living room balcony. When you step out onto the balcony, you will see magnificent trees in a bird sanctuary and park. From Spring to Autumn, we often enjoy our meals on the balcony.

The recently remodeled eat-in kitchen features an electric range with built-in microwave, dishwasher, and all kitchen aids. The dining room and living room are sun-filled and contain paintings and wooden furniture that have been in the family for a century.

The main hallway leads to a guest bedroom, a large hall bathroom with glass enclosed shower/tub, an additional bedroom (currently being used as office/den) with a pull-out queen-size bed and our large-screen TV (with Netflix, HBO, and Hulu), and a master bedroom suite and full bathroom. There is also a large laundry room with washer and dryer for your use.

You may drive our Subaru car for local travel. The car is in the building garage. We are on the 3rd floor with an elevator for all the home owners' use. Our building is very quiet and safe, with just 19 owners present. The other four unit owners on our floor are especially welcoming and helpful. Our neighborhood is safe, clean, and friendly, with many amenities. And we are available by phone, email, text.

Sue and Jerry are the principal travelers, but our son, daughter-in-law, and new baby may join us for a while as might our other son. They have busier lives than we, so it is unpredictable when they can get away from their jobs. We are both professors, semi-retired from full-time teaching. We began exchanging homes when our two sons were young and spent 3-4 weeks in various European cities and still remain connected with a few of our exchange families. We have had 9 successful home exchanges (and many Airbnbs). Now that we are semi-retired, fully vaccinated, we have started to travel again. Sometimes one or both of our sons and daughter in law may join us for a portion of our trips.

If you are interested in exploring an exchange, please reach out. We are interested in a week to 10 days in Rome from around Dec. 28, 2022 to Jan. 6/8, 2023 and then open to our preferred countries or any offer for the summer mid-May to late August 2023. Happy travels!

Lifestyle

Our apartment/condominium is in Haverford, a suburb of Philadelphia, We are a 2-minute walk from the commuter train station. You can walk to many stores and shopping nearby. The train is 20 minutes to Philadelphia where you can get an interstate Amtrak train to New York or to Washington. We go to both cities every few months for day trips to visit museums, theater, etc. We are a few minute walk from Haverford College, which has nature trails and an arboretum. Philadelphia is rich in culture, historical sites, gardens, and great dining. We are located on what is known as the Philadelphia Main Line, the most prestigious area of Philadelphia.

We love to live in your neighborhood as you do and visit your city's museums and cultural sites.
