Family house with nice garden and panoramic view. Close to Sandnes city centre and Stavanger.

We have a big garden, with lots of play-area.
The road outside is a dead end and we live in the end of it, so there´s no through traffic either.
There´s a lovely view of the area from the living room, and we have a roofed terrace and a balcony, facing south.
We have 3 good bikes for you to use or if you are a keen skateboarder, there´s a lovely new bowl in the neighbourhood.
We also have two kind cats.
Our neighborhood is a rather quiet one, with lots of kids in the same age as our own children running and playing in the streets. Our home is located in Austrått, Sandnes just about 15 min from Stavanger airport, Sola and 15 min from Stavanger city centre by car or train/bus. More about Sandnes/Stavanger please visit http://www.visitnorway.com
There is good public transportation bus or train.
We would find it preferrable if we could exchange cars.
We have a Toyota Prius (2013) with seven seats.

Sandnes is also perfectly located for a day trip to the Pulpit Rock, or if you want to go surfing there are ca. 90km of sandy beaches within a 20 minutes drive. The area is well suited for mountaineering, hikes, cycling and so on.
Not to mention the wonderful city Stavanger, just 16 km away. Check out the annual foodfestival http://gladmat.no

Our Neighbourhood

Nearest Airport: Stavanger airport, Sola - 16 km

Our home is located within walking distance to Sandnes city centre with all its shops, cafes and other services, as well as train and bus station should you wish to travel to the larger city of Stavanger 16 kilometres away, if you don´t want to drive.
There are several lovely lakes to swim in just a 10 minutes drive away, or if you feel more adventureous, you can drive out to the ocean and have a dip in the Nordic sea, or just have a stroll and a barbeque at the beach and watch the sun set. I would recommend that you take the hike to the famous Prekestolen (Pulpit Rock), maybe even the ferry along the Lysefjorden one day. If you want to hike in the mountains there are numerous of marked trails, some hikes can hours and other take days. Just let us know what you´re interested in and we´ll be able to help you as good as we can.

About Our Family

Having made had 7 exchanges before we´ve found this way of a having a holiday our preferred way of holiday making.
We are a fun loving, active family that likes to travel the world. We are easy going, but since Norway can be a bit chilly in the summers, we like to go somewhere hot.
Experiencing all the good things that are out there, from food to the arts, that is what we usually would aim for in a new place.
Kari, 40 years old is a Lecturer at the Cathedral school in Stavanger, teaching theatre.
Tormod, 55 years old is a Lecturer in Vagen school of art in Sandnes teaching photography and gaming.
Ådne (20) studies acting.
Johanne (18) is a very active dancer.
Mari (13) loves to ride horses and drawing.

Lifestyle

We are an adventorous and friendly family of five. Both of the grown ups are theachers in high school. Our subjects are theatre studes ( Kari) and media science ( Tormod). The children also have a large specter of interests ; music, dancing, and gaming for instance. When we travel we enjoy especially exploring local art and food! Our home in Sandnes is hopefully a warm and welcoming place, for another family to feel at ease for their holiday in Norway.
