Big newly built house in the countryside close to Salzburg city "Sound of Music"
275 qm big house only recently built in a nice an quite area in Neumarkt am Wallersee, only 5 minutes from our lake!
Public transport takes you to Salzburg in only 16 minutes!
The lake is reached within a 5 minute drive, you walk to the village where you can find shops, a pharmacy etc in only 10 minutes!
Surrounded by mountains this house is the perfect place to start your trip to the Salzkammergut, go hiking, etc.... perfect for active outdoor families as we have 5 bikes and a thule chariot for our little ones!
As we have just joined Intervac again, we are still working on taking pictures of our house and its surroundings!
We did a wonderful exchange with an Irish family, but I did loads of great exchanges with my parents when I was still a child, so I definitely know how Intervac works!!! We had just awesome experiences!
Our house was recently built in a quite one-family-home area in Neumarkt am Wallersee and is surrounded by very nice neighbours with lots of kids to play with!
On the ground floor there is a kitchen with a dining area and a separate living room with 2 hammocks, a big sofa and an upright piano. There is also a toilet, the cloakroom and little storage. We have a basement with a double guest room and an office.
The first floor is the one with three nice childrenˋs rooms and the big bathroom.
The second floor is totally for the parents with its master bedroom, a walk in closet and a private bathroom. Our little one also sleeps in our bedroom, as he is only 8 months old right now!

As we are planning to build a garage this summer, we cannot do an exchange during the hot season. Therefore we are considering on doing a winter exchange for the first time during our Christmas Holidays for 2 weeks, preferably where it is warm in the South, but we are also thinking about going to Scandinavia as we are keen skiiers and would like to see Northern Lights for the first time. In case you would like to spend Christmas Holidays in the romantic Salzburg area and visit the famous Salzburger Christmas Market, please contact us, we would be delighted! Skiing resorts are within reach and Salzburg Airport is only 25 minutes from our house. A lot of flights to Salzburg are available during the winter season! We have a 8-seat-car, which we would gladly put at your disposal! |

About the neighborhood
Salzburg (Mozartcity, Sound of Music) with it's great cultural offers is located 20km South of our home.
If you like mountains, climbing and hiking, this is the perfect base for your adventures!
Smaller hiking tours can be made within a 10 to 20 min drive and higher mountains can be reached within an hour!
You can also reach:
- Vienna (capital of Austria) by train directly from Neumarkt within 2,5 hours
- Innsbruck (Tyrol) by train directly from Neumarkt within 2 hours
- Munich (Germany) in a 1,5 hour drive.
- Venice (Italy) in a 3 hour drive
Our place is surrounded by nature! As you can see on the map you can cycle to many lakes (we offer you our bicycles and a trailer for children), go hiking, skiing, golfing, climbing, swimming, diving, play tennis etc.
Some possibilities to spend your vacation in Austria:
- walk up the fortress of Salzburg and take a walk in the historic city center afterwards
- cliff jumping and bathing at the beautiful Wolfgangsee
- hike the mountain Untersberg
- see the worlds biggest ice caves in Werfen
- take a boat trip at famous Hallstättersee
- Gold Waschen in Rauris in a 1,5 hour drive
Off course this is just a little personal selection. The city of Salzburg and its surroundings (Salzkammergut, Alps etc.) are a very popular holiday destination and the possibilities are almost endless :-)!

Lovely family. Very helpful and accessible to contact regarding any queries etc. The house is lovely and comfy. The local town is within easy distance of the house and the surrounding countryside is spectacular.
Everything was perfect and so kindly prepared for our two little ones, we were totally moved!

Tom and myself Linda we are both teachers of pupils aged 10 until 14 years. We love travelling and have been everywhere around the world! Good food and the nature and outdoor activities are our favourite entertainments.
My older kids Jamie (20, student) and the twin boys (16, still pupils) Frederick and Samuel don´t go on holidays with us any longer. They prefer staying at their father´s house during our house swaping vacations!
Our little ones are Finn (5) and Moritz (3) and they like all kinds of outdoor activities such as swimming, cycling and skiing and running around in the woods!
