House in The Lee, Great Britain

Our home is a house on three floors.   We are both recently retired.   We use some of the rooms at the top of the house as office/storage space. That leaves for you three large bedrooms on the first floor, plus the 5 (some open plan) rooms on the ground floor, all of which is our living area.
Outside there is a sheltered and south-facing terrace from which you can see down the garden and across fields.  The last photograph is the view of some of our garden from the terrace.  We have a second lawn to the left side which is large and flat.  It is good for playing games on (eg the English pastime of croquet)

Our Neighbourhood

We live in a small typically English country village called The Lee where the houses, some dating from the 17th century, are arranged around the village green. The photograph shows the view from our front garden across the green.   On, or very near, the green are a pub with good food, a church and a small village shop.  The nearest supermarket is about 3km away.
Being so picturesque the village is frequently visited by artists, film and television crews. We have often seen our village on the TV and some scenes for dramas have been filmed on the green, inside our house and in our garden (details and press cuttings available on request)
This area is known as the Chiltern Hills, and is classified as an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty'. There are hundreds of footpaths which criss-cross the countryside. The immediate area is rich in history. For instance 'Chequers', the country home of our Prime Minister, is nearby. There are also many nice pubs and restaurants within a few kilometres, and some within walking distance.
If you feel like sightseeing there is a London underground station 10-12 minutes drive away. From there central London is about 40 minutes on the train. We are also centrally placed in Britain so that many of our most famous tourist attractions are easily reached in a day's excursion, eg Oxford, Cambridge, Stratford-on-Avon, Bath, Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, Brighton and so on.
