Esens, Tyskland

Our house was built in 2008 and is located in Esens / Bensersiel. We have a large living-dining area with open kitchen on the ground floor. On the 1st floor are 2 children's room, a bedroom and a large bathroom. We have toys for kids, my son loves Lego! We can sit outside in the summer on a cozy wood deck. In our garden the kids find trampoline and in the summer a pool.

On foot you go in about 10 minutes in the downtown area of Esens. With the bike, 30 minutes drive to the beach to the sea.

We live within walking distance of the train station. Every hour the train goes to Wilhelmshaven, an important port city. You can also drive to the nice town Oldenburg within 90 minutes with the train. In 2 hours you will be in Bremen by train. Netherlands is not far away, in 90 minutes you are in Groningen with the car.

East Friesland is a historic region in the northwest of Lower Saxony, Germany. East Frisia has beautiful towns like Aurich, Leer and Jever. You can reach all these cities by bus or train.

Esens is located in the Wadden Sea National Park. The landscape is influenced by its proximity to the North Sea. The East Frisian Islands like Spiekeroog and Wangerooge stretch for 90 kilometres along the coast. They offer dunes and sand beaches, though in their center they have grass and woods as well. The area between the islands and the coast is unique in the world: the tide leaves a broad stretch of mudflat with creeks that attract an extraordinary number of species, worms and crabs as well as birds or seals. For this reason, the UNESCO World Heritage Fund declared the Wadden Sea, which had already been a national park, a global heritage site.

You can experience magnificent natural spectacles and amazing landscapes, such as the region's characteristic salt marshes and the steep sandy dunes.
