Dunblane is at the heart of Scotland, situated between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The stunning Perthshire countryside is within minutes. There is excellent access to the countryside as well as all accessto the things you would expect in a thriving city. Most people here commute to the city, and enjoy the quality of life associated with being close to the countryside. The Scottish Highlands is within driving distance and access to the network of ferries to the islands of Scotland.
From our home you will find access to distilleries, golf courses, hills and mountains, and all the things you would associate with Scotland. In Edinburgh and Glasgow, you will find a wide selection of cinemas, theatres, and bars and restaurants. Edinburgh is now famous for its Hogmanay party each year to celebrate the new year.
For children, there are excellent parks and visitor attractions like the Blair Drummond Safari Park ( open March - October), Edinburgh Zoo, the Falkirk Wheel, Edinburgh and Stirling Castles and the Wallace Monument where you can see Wiliiam Wallace's sword! There are a range of childrens advernture parks and play centres, some indoors if the weather is not so good.

Lifestyle

We enjoy the access to the countryside offered by our location in Central Scotland. We enjoy mountain biking and road biking. There are good walks nearby,  hill walking and the famous Munroe mountains within a short distance. There is ski-ing in the winter within a hour and a half drive. The area also provides good canoeing and rafting. There are mountain and other bikes for adults and children for use by visitors. There is a railway station in Dunblane, with access to Edinburgh and Glasgow with  many historic and cuiltural facilities. Many visitors use our home as a base to explore further north, with access to the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.
Local tourist attractions include Dublane Cathedral, Stirling Castle and the Walllace Monument. Sports facillities are excellent in Stirling and in the nearby Stirling University. There is a cinema and theatre in Bridge of Allan and in Stirling. The Trossachs National Park is nearby with superb scenery, walking and fishing.
St Andrews, the home of golf. and the famous Gleneagles are also nearby. There are beautiful beaches in Fife and in Edinburgh which are reached by car in under an hour.
