MOVED HOUSE - NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR EXCHANGE

We are a family of two adults and two girls aged ten and twelve.  David is a geologist and Aine a university teacher. For summer 2017 we are looking for an exchange with Germany or perhaps Vienna.
We have completed seven exchanges - to France, Austria, Sweden, Spain (twice), Germany and Denmark and we enjoyed each one greatly. We like to travel and have also been to other countries in Europe and further a field.
We live in a 2 storey contemporary house c.200m2 in size with open-plan layout located in the peaceful countryside in County Galway near the Atlantic Ocean ("Wild Atlantic Way"). We have views of hills and green fields, cows and stone walls from our kitchen windows and upstairs balcony. We have a large garden with fruit trees, herb and veg. garden, and  we have a tree house and lots of space to play football and basketball as well as outside area to eat and barbeque. We also have a small piano and a table for table tennis.  Open fire and stove (wood supplied).  Underfloor heating with wood pellets (supplied and need topped up).  It is quiet and relaxing with no traffic where we live. A great place to switch off and relax.  We are a 35 minute drive from the lively city of Galway (west coast of Ireland) with pubs, restaurants, festivals, Irish music and beaches. We live near the famous Burren Nature Reserve (20 mins.) where you can climb hills and have views of the Atlantic ocean, eat sea food, walk by the sea, go to beaches and do lots more.
We have a Skoda Roomster and Honda CRV car (we swap one car). Our house is 45 minutes from Shannon Airport and 2 hrs 15m drive from Dublin Airport. 1 hour 40 mins from Ireland West Knock airport.  Limerick City is 1hr drive.  Cork City 2 hrs drive.
Forest Park (Coole Park) with beautiful walks and lake and picnic area is 15 mins drive away.  http://www.coolepark.ie/index.html
Loughrea Lake (Long Walk), 15 mins drive. Here you can swim as it is a Blue Flag lake.
Kinvarra village on the Atlantic ocean with castle, traditional pubs with music, cafes, 15 mins drive. http://www.galwaytourist.com/towns/kinvara/
Beach 20 mins drive.  Surfing at Lahinch or Fanore, County Clare 1 hrs drive.http://www.lahinchsurfschool.com/   http://www.surfschool.tv/
Two famous festivals in Galway in July - The Galway Arts Festival http://www.galwayartsfestival.com/ and The Galway Races http://www.galwayraces.com/
We are near the village of Oranmore which has a woodland park area with walks, picnic area and children's playground (Rinville Park) situated on the Atlantic Ocean and a sailing club as well as a castle and shops and restaurants http://oranmore.galway-ireland.ie/  Clarinbridge village with lovely cafes and restaruants, Moran's on the Weir a well know seafood restaurant with views of the water is just 15 minutes from our house http://clarinbridge.galway-ireland.ie/
Bunratty Castle 50 mins drive (direction Limerick)http://www.shannonheritage.com/Attractions/BunrattyCastleFolkPark/

About Our Family

Our girls are aged 10 and 12 and have been doing exchanges since they were three years old. They like sport - rugby, football, swimming and horse riding. They also play music - violin, flute and piano (classical and traditional Irish music) and also do Irish dancing. They like to do art and Aisling loves lego and has lots of it. We have lots of board games, toy cars and boys stuff as well as girls toys. We have a large table for table tennis and a basketball net outside too.
